mHawkes
Over the next few weeks we’ll be bringing more features online as we ramp up the website to be a one-stop portal for news and information about my books and their associated worlds. Right now things are a bit barebones, but we won’t be that way for long! Let me introduce you to some of the features that we’re working on right now.
Book Map
This is one of the things we’d most like to get up for the fans. Reading your favorite writer’s books and trying to keep track of what story goes with which plot thread can be a real nightmare, especially as worlds grow and branch off into a variety of different directions. The Book Map will help you navigate the Hawkes novels’ plots in an intuitive manner. You’ll be able to track all of the different worlds found in my books, as well as the individual characters as they grow and evolve. Since many of my novels span multiple generations, this will be an invaluable tool. I’m not going to lie, this will help me keep things straight as well! I’m looking forward to finishing this one up!
Gallery
This one seems kind of self-explanatory, but in case it isn’t clear; the gallery will feature everything from book covers to fan art, and all of the stops between the two. We want to create a place for you to see visual media of your favorite characters and events, and a place where you can contribute your own additions! Fan submissions will be featured in their own section of the gallery, and you will receive full credit as well as links to any associated sites that you wish to shout-out. We’ll be adding some initial art over the next few weeks, just to get things underway.
The Store
This one explains itself as well, but here you’ll find links to all of the works we currently have on sale, including links to any formats in which they are available. For now that will include print and e-book versions of novels, but we hope to incorporate audiobooks in the not so distant future.
Answers
You’ve got questions! I’m sure you have questions. We all have questions, and this is where you can come to find answers! We’ll be taking questions from the community and bringing all the answers to one location where we can update those answers as we need to. While we can’t answer everything, we’ll do our best to get you the answers that are within our power to provide. Engaging with fans is the best, and I (and those who help with the site) want to make sure you can get in touch with us if you need to, or even if you just have something you want to ask us.
Those are the four initial features we’re looking to bring to the website, but we’ll respond to the needs of the fan base as quickly as we can by implementing new features as they become viable. We’ll also be providing a way to get in touch with us soon, but we need to put a bit more groundwork in before we can do that.
